Yes, students can be involved in both the Quiz Bowl and the Social Studies Fair without conflict.
The SWMLS Academic Day is a one time a year annual event in which students from Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran schools around southwest Michigan and northern Indiana gather to compete in a fun academic challenge. School children from grades
3 to 8 are arranged into teams by school.
We encourage you to use the links above to learn more about the SWMLS Academic Day and access the appropriate resources. This year the academic day will consist of both a Social Studies Fair and a Quiz Bowl event.

ACADEMIC Day schedule
Saturday, March 10, 2018
8:30 – 9:30 Students, families, and guests (for grades 3-8) can arrive and assemble Social Studies Fair projects at the MLHS gymnasium or classroom.
9:30 – 9:45 Opening (welcome and prayer in the gym for grades 3-8).
9:45 – 10:00 Transition time to appropriate rooms.
Morning Session
10:00 – 11:30
Grades 3-4 Quiz Bowl - music room
Grades 5-6 Quiz Bowl - stage
Grades 7-8 Quiz Bowl - media center
Lunch Break
11:30 – 12:00 Break - lunch menu TBD
MPR at the high school
12:00 – 12:15 Transition time to Social Studies Fair
Afternoon Session
12:15 – Completion (approximately 2:00).
Grades 3-4 Social Studies Fair - gymnasium or classroom
Grades 5-6 Social Studies Fair - gymnasium or classroom
Grades 7-8 Social Studies Fair - gymnasium or classroom
Clean-up
2:00 – 3:00 Clean-up. Any projects left at MLHS will be discarded.
The facility at MLHS needs to be restored to its original set-up.
